Summer Ice – here we go!

So excited to be part of the Indie Craft Experience again this summer.  The vendor line up never disappoints so mark your calendars June 28 and 29 at Ambient Plus Studio.  Lots of adorable baby gifts for all the summer babies to be out there, and even a couple new things I have in the works.  If you live in Atlanta, this is the place to be.  See you there!

PS.   indoors = air conditioning.

Baby it’s cold outside

As usual, what a crazy couple weeks it has been! Things are starting to feel a little wintery here in Hotlanta, which turns out, is great for selling baby hats! I have been a wee bit busy getting gifts ready, taking my mother in law to doctor appointments, filling orders and keeping things stocked.

The other day I was able to snag some time to walk down to the Flying Biscuit with my dear neighbor friend sanity saver to get some coffee and creamy dreamy grits. I was so happy Lylah kept her hat on the entire time, and even hammed it up for the camera.

I do love this season, and as much as I miss the warm weather, I am finding warmth in other places. Like a fireplace, mulled cider, oh and our screaming red Christmas tree. As you can see, except for a few non-breakable things, the tree is decorated from the middle up.

Oh, and my beloved village is up, complete with the gumdrop tree. It’s becoming a tradition in the morning with Lylah to turn the tree and village on. She loves it almost as much as me.

I am so excited to start new Christmas traditions with her. What are some of yours?

This and That

Whoa.  I think this is the longest gap between blog posts.  I can’t believe that Thanksgiving is over and we are officially in the Christmas holiday.  This past weekend I was at Indie Craft Experience, and it was such a great show!  I sold out of owl and teddy bear hats the first day, so Mom and I came home and made 8 more hats.  I can’t even believe we had enough energy to do that!  Here is my booth – before the masses hit.

If you missed the show, there is plenty of inventory at the Beehive.

In other news, we had a great Thanksgiving, thanks to fresh market.  I have to say, I usually enjoy planning the menu and going to the store, then spending all day in the kitchen cooking up and finally sitting down to enjoy the meal.  This year, the mere thought of that process exhausted me, so I took my Fresh Market catalog, and ordered up a meal.  It was quite delish, and took nothing but a little reheating and just cooking the bird.  I would definitely do it again.

After dinner we got out the gingerbread house to assemble.  Lylah was excited.  It’s weird to me how she even had any concept of what it was, but I had the box sitting out on the island, and ended up having to hide it from her because every time she saw it, there was a tantrum. She wanted the house.

Chris and Tyler ended up figuring out how to get the thing to stand up. I have to say, every time I’ve made a gingerbread house, the thing always collapses.  Lylah finally got some candy, and I spent the rest of the night regretting letting her have the peppermint stick.

Hope everyone had a peaceful Thanksgiving.  I will be back soon- I promise!

Happy Fall, Y’all!

I can’t believe how busy I am lately. Lylah is certainly keeping me on my toes. Nights have been extremely restless, and she has been nursing a ton. I chalked it up to the fact that she has been toying with the idea of walking, and took a few steps this week. This morning I saw she is getting an eye tooth as well. Poor baby – double whammy.

I have gotten some adorable shots from a couple photographer friends, which always serves as inspiration to keep going! I will be getting my table set up at the Beehive on Tuesday, and I’m so excited for that. When things start coming together, it always seems to help me feel that I actually AM getting things done, even though it may not feel like it. I am looking forward to enjoying some fall weather this weekend, and will be putting out our Halloween decorations. Oh, and I will be continuing my fight with Google Analytics – I really need a blog tutor! Here are some of the photos – these make me want another teeny tiny…

These are from a new friend, Tiny Tush Photography. Seriously, how talented is Dana? I had some newborn shots done of Lylah, and believe me, it takes a lot of patients! Check out these great shots!

I am planning to add some new patterns to my site soon, so stay tuned! And thanks again for everyone participating in my giveaway. Have a great weekend!

Tomorrow is the fall fest at the Atlanta History Center. I am finishing up some last minute preparations today. I am really excited about this sale – not really sure what to expect. I will be bringing a set of fruit/veggie hats. I would love to see these on a roomful of babies. If only I could get mine to hold still. IMG_7184 IMG_7182
Aren’t they just the cutest?

Tonight I will be finishing up making some price tags, and dreaming about how I’m going to set my booth up tomorrow. Yea, I know, I’m pretty last minute. I’m an artist, what can I say.

Today marked the first consignment sale of the season for me. It came at the right time because Lylah Grace is out of clothes. I discovered the wonder of consignment sales last year, and I am so excited to treasure hunt this year! I only found a couple things today, but I was so excited to pick this up: IMG_7171

And the best part? It’s Elmo-less! Elmo is not a favorite in the Kearns’ household! Definitely prefer vintage Sesame – when Elmo was a minor character. The toy is a hit – just as I remember it.

Izzy was not amused.

Looking forward to a fun weekend!

beach babies

We just got back from a very relaxing beach trip. It was so nice to just soak in my family, and really just take everything in. I was planning on bringing some projects to work on, but on a last minute whim (maybe based on a teensy bit of laziness) I decided not to bring anything. It gave me the opportunity to be in the moment, and I’m glad I did. Tyler found a skate park (big surprise!) and had a blast surfing the waves with his body. His long curly locks and tan skin made him fit in just perfectly at the beach.

Lylah crawled all over me, Daddy, and anything else that got in her way. She had a hard time sleeping at night, just because she knew we were continuing the party while she slept. So, we scrapped the schedule, and just let the tide guide us. Of course today I am paying for it. She enjoyed picking shells out of the sand the most, and also dipping her pretzel sticks in the sand to give it some extra crunch! She was so excited, just point point pointing at everything. I love this. We are already anticipating our return next summer. mmm sand

In crafting news, I am looking forward to participating in the Atlanta History Center‘s Fall Folklife Festival. I will be bringing some adorable new hats, and basking in all of Autumn’s glory. (and 82 degree temps!) Today is gray and gloomy, and it’s making me ready to move on to the next season. Hope everyone had a great long weekend! I’m looking forward to the week ahead.
